Violence erupts on Hunter Street: Four injured in stabbing incident

URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — On Sunday evening, a violent altercation broke out on the 1600 block of Hunter Street, leading to multiple stabbings and a swift police response. At approximately 5:45 p.m., Urbana Police were dispatched to the scene where they discovered a chaotic fight involving around 15 individuals.

As officers arrived, additional details revealed that several victims had suffered stabbing and cutting injuries. Emergency responders transported four individuals to local hospitals, with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims, but their conditions are being closely monitored.

According to witnesses, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, and law enforcement quickly received a description of both the suspect and the vehicle. Acting on this crucial information, officers located the vehicle and apprehended 18-year-old Samuel Garcia of Arcola, Illinois, who was identified as the primary suspect in the violent altercation.

Garcia was taken into custody and charged with Attempted Murder. He is currently being held at the Urbana Police Department while authorities continue their investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward.
