URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) – At VFW Post 6750, honoring the legacy of local veterans is more than a tradition—it’s a solemn duty. The stories of those who served are deeply woven into the fabric of the community, and through remembrance, the Post ensures that their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Central to that mission is the TAPS program, a digital tribute initiative that immortalizes the lives and service of local veterans who have passed away. The program offers families, friends, and the broader community a way to honor fallen heroes and keep their stories alive for future generations.

This year, Post 6750 solemnly recognizes three of its own:

  • Donald Fiedler (1938–2025) – National Guard

  • Paul Fox (1947–2025) – United States Air Force

  • Richard Strater (1935–2025) – United States Navy

Each name represents a life of service, sacrifice, and deep commitment to country. These veterans are remembered not only for their military service but for their enduring impact on the community.

Post 6750 is inviting anyone who knew a veteran from the area to help honor their memory by submitting a photo and obituary for inclusion on the TAPS page. “Our goal is to make sure no story is left untold,” the Post shared.

You can view the TAPS page and submit tributes at VFW Post 6750’s TAPS Page.

Through programs like TAPS, VFW Post 6750 continues its mission to honor, remember, and inspire—ensuring that the service of local heroes is preserved and never forgotten.
