Urbana delays leaf collection after early snowfall

URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Urbana’s citywide leaf collection will begin a week later than planned after early winter weather forced crews to prioritize snow removal. The pickup, originally scheduled for this week, has now been rescheduled for December 8–12.

City officials said leaf bags will be collected on each household’s regular U-Cycle pickup day. Residents are asked to place their bagged leaves at the curb the day before their scheduled pickup, making sure the bags are clearly visible from the street and not buried under snow.

Crews depend on easy visibility and access to ensure efficient collection, the city noted.

Questions about the revised schedule can be directed to U-Cycle at 217-384-2302. Additional information is available on the City of Urbana’s website at urbanail.gov.
