Rantoul police seek public’s help in solving business burglary

RANTOUL, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Rantoul Police Department, along with Champaign County Crime Stoppers, is asking the public for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a burglary that occurred on September 17 at Twice The Ice Shop, located on East Grove Avenue.

According to officials, the suspect gained entry to the business by cutting off an exterior lock and entering the office, where property was damaged and U.S. currency was stolen. Surveillance footage captured images of the suspect, described as a white male, aged 30-40, with a tattoo on his left forearm. He was wearing a black tank top, black pants, Croc-style shoes, and a camouflage hat while using a red bandana to cover his face.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 217-373-8477, visiting the Crime Stoppers website, or using the P3 Tips app. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
