Promise Healthcare opens new clinic inside C-UPHD to expand access to care in Champaign

Champaign, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Promise Healthcare is expanding its footprint in Champaign County with the launch of a new clinic inside the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (C-UPHD) facility. The new site, located at 201 W. Kenyon Road in Champaign, will begin seeing patients on Wednesday, September 3.

Initially open Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the clinic plans to extend operations to five days a week as demand grows.

The Promise Healthcare – Kenyon location will provide both medical and behavioral health services, offering integrated, whole-person care in a central, accessible location.

Medical services — including prenatal and postpartum care — will be provided by Family Nurse Practitioner Marilyn Perez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C. Behavioral health services will be led by Susan Hanson, LCPC, DSW, PEL K-12, and Carin Cohen-Heath, LPC.

This new location marks Promise Healthcare’s fifth site in Champaign County, joining:

  • Frances Nelson (Champaign)
  • Neil Street (Champaign)
  • Urbana School-Based Health Center (Urbana High School)
  • Rantoul School-Based Health Center (next to J.W. Eater Jr. High

“This partnership with C-UPHD allows us to break down barriers to care by meeting patients where they already are,” said Jennifer Henry, CEO of Promise Healthcare. “Together, we’re creating a trusted, community-centered location that prioritizes access, equity, and whole-family wellness.”

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Promise Healthcare accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance. A sliding fee scale is also available for uninsured patients based on income and family size.
