CHICAGO, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Illinois Lottery announced Tuesday that Powerball players once again will have the chance to chase a massive prize, as the jackpot climbed to $775 million for the December 3 drawing — the second-largest Powerball jackpot of 2025.

To celebrate the soaring prize, the Lottery will bring its popular Powerball Ticket Grab Challenge to Springfield today, offering participants a whirlwind chance to grab free tickets inside the fan-powered booth. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Qik n EZ, 1101 Stevenson Drive, where more than 800 free tickets were available.

Participants 18 and older will step into the Ticket Grab Machine for a few frantic seconds, collecting as many tickets as they could before time runs out.

The Lottery noted that every ticket supports local communities, with about 40 cents of every dollar spent on Powerball going toward K–12 education and other state programs. Since 1985, the Illinois Lottery has contributed more than $25 billion to education funding.
