CRASH UPDATE: Roadway on I-57 has been reopened

TUSCOLA, IL (Chambana Today) — All lanes have been reopened on I-57 at milepost 219.5.

7:00 a.m.: Northbound Interstate 57 near Tuscola was closed Monday after multiple crashes involving commercial vehicles.

According to Illinois State Police, troopers and local emergency medical services responded to the scene near milepost 219.5 in Troop 7 after several commercial motor vehicles were involved in crashes and slide-offs.

Authorities said the northbound lanes of I-57 were shut down while crews responded to the incidents and worked to clear the roadway.

Traffic was being diverted at milepost 212 at the Tuscola exit. Police urged drivers to avoid the area and expect delays as first responders continue their work.
