DECATUR, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Seventy-eight proud 4-H members from DeWitt, Macon, and Piatt counties showcased their creativity, craftsmanship, and commitment during General Project Judging at the Illinois State Fair on August 9.

Held at the Orr Building, the event featured a wide range of projects—from animal science to visual arts—and drew families, fairgoers, and judges eager to see the talent on display. Throughout the day, exhibits remained open to the public, highlighting the youth’s innovation and hard work.

Several participants received top honors, including Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, and Inspire Awards—recognizing exceptional creativity or effort noted by judges.

“This program gives the kids so much more than a ribbon on the wall,” said Kendra Wallace, 4-H Program Coordinator. “4-H gives them skills and experiences that they will carry with them throughout their whole life.
