Lanz Underground Solutions offers safer, smarter water line replacements

Champaign, Ill. (Chambana Today) – For many homeowners, water lines are out of sight and often out of mind—until something goes wrong. Jesse from Lanz Underground Solutions wants to change that mindset and help local residents take a more proactive approach before leaks, low water pressure, or high bills become serious problems.

“Your water line is what brings fresh water into your home,” Jesse explained. “As these pipes age, they break down and form pinholes that cause leaks, water loss, and costly repairs. It’s important to know where your line is and what condition it’s in.”

One of the major concerns homeowners have when facing water line issues is the potential damage to their yard or property during replacement. Fortunately, Lanz Underground offers an alternative to traditional trenching: directional boring.

“Directional boring allows us to replace a water line without tearing up your entire yard, driveway, or landscaping,” said Jesse. “We drill a path underground from the shutoff valve to your home, even under concrete or mature trees, and pull in a new pipe—all with minimal surface disruption.”

This less invasive method is ideal for homes with concrete slabs, patios, or carefully maintained landscaping. It not only protects the visual appeal of a property but also cuts down on the time and mess usually associated with digging.

“Most jobs are done in a day or two,” Jesse added. “Day one we prep and locate utilities; day two we pull the new line. You’re typically only without water for a few hours.”

Signs that a water line may need attention include low water pressure, bubbling in the yard, or unusually high water bills. Even without visible issues, Jesse recommends having a professional inspection—especially for homes with aging galvanized or copper lines.

“If you’re unsure about your water line’s location or condition, give us a call,” Jesse said. “We can walk you through your options and help prevent small issues from becoming big problems.”
