CHICAGO, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Illinois Lottery has marked another successful year, generating $784 million for the Common School Fund, which supports K-12 education in Illinois. This contribution is part of a total of $3.76 billion in sales for fiscal year 2025, making it the second highest sales year for the Lottery.

Despite a national slowdown in lottery sales, the Illinois Lottery posted impressive results, with $796 million in net proceeds. Governor JB Pritzker applauded the Lottery’s continued commitment to funding education, especially as federal education funding faces uncertainty.

The Lottery also reported over $2.5 billion in prizes awarded to players, with one lucky Illinois resident winning a $349 million Mega Millions jackpot. Additionally, the Lottery’s online sales reached $702 million, setting a new record.
