URBANA, IL (Chambana Today) — Crystal Lake Park will glow with candlelight and live music tonight as local organizations partner to host the CU Jazz Fest Candlelight Serenade.

The event, organized through a partnership between the City of Urbana, 40 North | 88 West, the Urbana Park District, the CU Jazz Festival, and the CU Symphony, will feature candlelit paddleboat rides alongside live jazz performances at the Lake House.

A small ensemble from the CU Jazz Festival will perform throughout the evening from the Lakeside Deck while guests enjoy views of Crystal Lake from the patio and paddleboats. Organizers describe the event as a relaxing spring concert experience designed to bring together music, art, and the outdoors.

Patio seating tickets remain available for $10 through the Urbana Park District’s online portal. Event organizers say the combination of live jazz, evening lake views, and illuminated paddleboats has become a unique attraction for residents looking for outdoor entertainment in the Champaign-Urbana area.

In the event of severe weather, organizers say the rain date will be held the following night. Guests can check the Urbana Park District Rainout Line at 217-367-9575 or visit the organization’s Facebook page after 4 p.m. Friday for postponement updates.

Officials say the event reflects ongoing collaboration between local arts and recreation organizations to create community-focused experiences throughout the summer season. to purchase tickets, click here: Activity detail | Urbana Park District – Online Registration.
