CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) – Dr. AJ Lauer, an author, businesswoman, and expert in STEM leadership and diversity, will be in Champaign on Thursday, October 23, to discuss her latest book, My Monster Mungo: A Story About Imposter Syndrome. The event will be held at The Literary at 7:30 PM.

Dr. Lauer is the founder of Thriving Ibis Leadership Solutions, a company focused on helping individuals and organizations grow through inclusive leadership training and coaching. Her book uses humor, illustration, and storytelling to help readers of all ages better understand and navigate feelings of imposter syndrome—a psychological pattern in which individuals doubt their accomplishments and fear being exposed as a “fraud.”

According to Lauer’s team, My Monster Mungo was written to reframe this often-intimidating topic in an engaging and relatable way, especially for those in academic, corporate, and STEM environments.

In addition to the reading, Lauer will discuss strategies for overcoming imposter syndrome and answer audience questions.

Those interested in attending can find more information on the Thriving Ibis website at www.thrivingibis.com, or register for the event directly through The Literary’s event page.
